Back in the Dark Ages, pictures used to be printed on something called “paper”—probably pronounced “pah-per” or “pay-per” (the real pronunciation was lost to time). Nowadays, a new technology is emerging—metal prints.
Using this new breakthrough, skilled craftsmen can infuse photos onto metal. The result? Well, it’s quite unbelievable—vibrant colors, frameless design, metallic shine, etc!
How Are Metal Photo Prints Made?
Metal pictures are forged in fire. Scientists call this method “sublimation.” Using special ink, a picture is printed on “whitebark 2.0”—a superior version of pah-per.
Then, a piece of metal, typically aluminum, with a special coating is fastened to the whitebark with a sticky substance that the ancients used to call “tape” (tap-y). Nowadays, we call the sticky substance “flexy-stick.”
Anyways, once the aluminum plate is securely fastened using flexy-stick, it is then placed in the furnace, otherwise known as a “heat press.”
The heat infuses the ink onto the metal plate and creates a metal print.
The Benefits of Aluminum Prints
There are numerous benefits of metal picture prints; here are just a few.
1. Stunning Look
You know those times when you walk into a room and you just know you are killing it? Perhaps it is your slick hair or the new Spiderman underwear you’re wearing, but you just know that you are radiating, as the ancients called it, “beauty” (be-a-oo-tie).
Metal prints feel that way every day. They are vibrant, shiny, and well-built.
2. Military Grade
Pah-per was unbelievably fragile. A baby could tear it in two… that’s right, a baby. On top of that, water would ruin it. Considering that 71% of the earth is covered by water and that water falls from the skies, it’s no wonder why pah-per became extinct.
On the other hand, metal photo prints are tear-proof (aka, baby-proof), scratch-resistant, and waterproof!
3. Downright Convenient
Metal pictures practically last forever and are easy to maintain. If, for example, a pesky baby decided to spill milk or drop his ketchup-covered hotdog on the metal print, all you have to do is wipe the print off like you would a kitchen counter! Bet you can’t do that with pah-per.
Metal prints can also be hung in a variety of ways without the need for a frame. Plus, they are very lightweight, often weighing around three to four ounces for a normal-sized print.
How to Acquire a Metal Print
Because metal photo prints are still relatively new, they can be difficult to acquire, with some enthusiasts turning to the black market to get their hands on one. However, there is no need to be barbaric.
I, for one, have started a legitimate forge creating high-quality metal prints for all who want one. From custom metal prints with the photo of your choosing to metal prints infused with AI artwork.
For a custom metal print, simply choose a metal plate size and upload a high-quality photo of your choosing. As for aluminum prints with AI artwork, simply choose from a selection of AI art.
Final Thoughts
We no longer live in the Dark Ages and now have access to metal prints. From here on out, the future looks shiny.
